Who we are
We are Labrador Accessibility Inc., a digital accessibility agency. This site is labradoraccessibility.com. If you have any question about this policy or about data we hold, email us at hello@labradoraccessibility.com and a person will answer.
What we collect when you ask for a quote
Our quote form asks for your name, email address, company, country, what you want tested or taught, and anything you choose to write in the message box. When you submit it, the answers are stored in this site’s database and emailed to us so we can reply with a proposal. We use them for that reply and for the work that follows if you hire us. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not send a newsletter. Every form on this site also records the IP address and browser a submission arrived from, as part of the record of the submission itself. We do not use that to build a picture of you.
When you order a homepage audit
Ordering a homepage audit asks for your name, your email address, and the address of the page you want us to test, and those answers are stored in this site’s database and emailed to us, the same way a quote request is. We use them to run the test and send you the report. The name on your card is typed on our page too; it travels to Stripe with the payment and we do not keep it.
The payment itself is handled by Stripe, Inc., and the card field in the order box belongs to Stripe rather than to us. Your card number goes to Stripe and never reaches this site in full: what our copy of the order keeps is the masked version, the last four digits only, so a payment can be matched to a card without anyone here holding the number. Stripe takes the payment, keeps the record of it, and emails you your receipt, under Stripe’s privacy policy. To do that, and to check the payment is not fraudulent, Stripe also receives your email address and technical details about the device you paid from, including your IP address. Stripe is a payments company in the United States.
What comes back to us is the outcome rather than the card. Stripe tells this site whether a payment is processing, has gone through, or has been refunded, and that sits on your order next to a Stripe reference number and the amount, so the two records can be matched.
Chat and booking
The chat button on this site opens Intercom, a chat service run by Intercom, Inc. If you use it, your messages and any details you share in them pass through Intercom’s systems under Intercom’s privacy policy.
“Book a call” links take you to Calendly to pick a time. Scheduling details you enter there are handled by Calendly under Calendly’s privacy policy.
Fonts and server logs
Our body typeface loads from Google Fonts. Your browser fetches the font files from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address and basic browser details for that request, as it does on the many sites that use Google Fonts.
Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs: IP addresses, pages requested, and timestamps. We use them only for security and to keep the site running.
We measure site traffic with three tools. Ahrefs Analytics runs without cookies and does not identify individual visitors; it tells us, in aggregate, which pages people visit and where they came from, and because it stores nothing on your device it runs whatever you choose about cookies. Google Analytics waits for your consent and does not load until you accept. PostHog runs on every visit, but until you accept cookies it runs in a cookieless mode: it stores nothing on your device, keeps no identifier between visits, and counts you with a short-lived code that cannot follow you from one day to the next. Google Analytics tells us which pages people visit and where they came from. PostHog tells us how people move through the site, which pages lead to a quote request, and where the site confuses them. Once you accept cookies, PostHog sets a cookie to recognise a returning browser, and it is served from our own domain rather than a third-party one. Google Analytics is run by Google and its cookies are Google’s. PostHog also records sessions: a replay of how pages were used, so we can see where the site confuses people. Everything typed is masked before the recording leaves your browser, so what you enter in a form is never sent to us, and card details are never recorded at all because they are handled inside Stripe’s own frame, which the recorder cannot see into. Recording only happens if you accept cookies. Once you accept cookies, PostHog keeps a history of your visits under its cookie’s random id, so we can see a visitor’s path across days; it is connected to you as a person only if you identify yourself to us, for example by submitting the quote form. Without acceptance there is no such history, because nothing links one visit to the next.
We also load Google Tag Manager, which is a container that lets us add or remove measurement tools without changing the site’s code. It does not collect anything by itself; anything it loads is covered by this policy, and we update this page when that changes.
What we do not do
We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone. We do record sessions, as described above, but never what you type: that is masked in your browser before anything is sent. The measurement described above is for our own understanding of the site, not for advertising, and it is never shared with ad networks. This site has no comment forms and no visitor accounts, so we hold no data from either.
Cookies
Our caching layer may set functional cookies that help pages load quickly. PostHog and Google Analytics each set cookies so we can tell a returning browser from a new one, and neither loads unless you accept cookies. If you open the chat, Intercom sets cookies to keep your conversation connected. None of our cookies are used for advertising, and you can block or clear any of them in your browser without losing access to anything on this site. A banner asks for your choice on your first visit: accept cookies, or choose essential only, in which case neither PostHog nor Intercom loads. The chat still works if you open it, and Intercom loads only at that moment. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences control in the footer. Stripe’s payment script loads on every page, not only where you can order, so the order box is ready the moment you want it. It sets cookies that let Stripe recognise fraudulent card use. They load whatever you choose about cookies, because they are part of taking a payment safely, and they are never used for advertising.
How long we keep your information
We keep quote submissions and email correspondence for as long as they are useful to the enquiry or engagement they belong to, and for the records ordinary businesses are expected to keep. An order is also a financial record, so it outlives the enquiry it started as. We keep order records, and Stripe keeps its own copy, for as long as tax and accounting rules ask us to. Ask us to delete your information at any time and we will remove what we can, and tell you plainly what has to stay and why.
Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing hello@labradoraccessibility.com. If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have the rights the GDPR gives you, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. Deleting our copy of an order does not delete Stripe’s: Stripe holds its own record of the payment it processed, so a request about that record goes to Stripe.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle information changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top tells you when that last happened.
